Palisades

Palisades is a neighborhood at the far western edge of DC, roughly bordered by Canal Road and the Potomac River on the south side and by MacArthur Blvd on the north side, and by Foxhall Road on the east and the District line near Sibley hospital on the west. The neighborhood is mostly known for the Washington Reservoir, and the commercial corridor along MacArthur Blvd that has many fine shopping and dining options. Well off the beaten path, Palisades is not particularly convenient to much in DC, but it is a quiet and pleasant neighborhood that attracts young people and families alike. Virginia is easily accessible via Chain Bridge, and Maryland is just a short drive down MacArthur Blvd. Palisades real estate includes many small, affordably priced condos, as well Cape Cods, Bungalows and Colonials.

TRANSPORTATION

Palisades does not have a metro. There are bus lines that run on MacArthur Boulevard toward downtown DC and out into Maryland.
