Navy Yard

Navy Yard is a neighborhood just south of Capitol Hill that houses the Washington Navy Yard, and also hundreds of virtually brand new housing units, from the EYA townhouses to countless newly constructed apartments, condos and coops. The construction of the Washington Nationals baseball stadium on South Capitol Street spurred development of the once desolate area, and now the neighborhood is filled with new residents, thousands of government workers thanks to the relocation of the Department of Transportation, baseball fans and fun seekers of all stripes. Townhouses in Navy Yard are selling in the $900,000 to $1,000,000 range, while condos and coops are selling for $350,000 and up.
