Michigan Park

Michigan Park, and it’s immediate neighbor to the north, North Michigan Park, is a residential neighborhhood in NE DC that’s bounded by Eastern Avenue on the east, Galloway Street to the north, the railroad tracks and Puerto Rico Avenue to the west, and Taylor Street and Michigan Avenue to the south. People are attracted to Michigan Park because of it’s quiet streets and residential feel, and because of the relative affordability of the real estate. You sacrifice proximity to a lot of what DC has to offer, but buyers can get a very comfortable three bedroom detached Colonial with a large yard for under $700,000. New homes developer EYA is currently planning 90 new homes and a new park at 12th and Allison Street, which may drive up the average housing cost in the area.
TRANSPORTATION
Michigan Park does not have a metro. There are bus lines that run on South Dakota Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue to the Rhode Island Avenue metro.
