Anacostia is a historic neighborhood in SE DC, with it’s heart at the intersection of Good Hope Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. It is located just east of the Anacostia river, and is bounded by the Anacostia freeway on the west side, Morris Road on the south side, Good Hope Road on the north, and Fort Stanton Park on the east. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Good Hope Road are both commercial corridors that have struggled in years past, but are now starting to see new businesses opening that are drawing new residents and visitors from other parts of town. Anacostia real estate is comprised of Italianate, Cottages and some Queen Anne’s, which generally sell in the $300,000-$500,000 range, depending on size and level of renovation.
Anacostia is served by the Anacostia metro station on the green line.
